Fitzwilliam Group was originally founded under the Albert Group of companies, established in Ireland in 1975. Over the last 45 years, the Group has built a strong reputation for providing a pro-active and professional service to all our customers, clients and the partnerships we enter into. Initially established as a Building Company, the Group has successfully expanded into the 3 main divisions in which it operates today - Investment, Development and Property.

Driven by our strong company values, our focus is on exceeding customer and stakeholder expectations, leaving a positive legacy in the communities we serve, protecting the environment for the future generation and promoting a safe and inclusive workplace for our team members.

Foundation

Founded by William Smyth, Albert Building Services begins trading as a Building and Electrical company, becoming a key fit-out Contractor for a number of significant Clients over the coming years.

1980

Fitzwilliam Properties

Fitzwilliam Properties commence the acquisition of a property portfolio which continued in subsequent years to include Residential, Office, Retail and Commercial buildings.

1999

Albert Developments

Albert Developments commence its first 44 Unit Housing scheme in Drogheda, quickly followed by further Residential schemes in the area.  This proved a spring board for further success, giving the company the opportunity to deliver larger scale projects.

2004

Fitzwilliam Court, Drogheda

The large scale Mixed Use Development in Fitzwilliam Court, Drogheda is completed, with AIB as its anchor Tenant.

2008

Docklands Business Centre

The acquisition of 77 Sir John Rogerson’s Quay, within the Central Docklands Business district, is completed and a significant fit-out of all floors is undertaken.

2010 to 2017

Recovery

As the country recovered from recession, the Group recommenced property activities in a number of locations, most notably the completion and handover of the Primary Care Centre Facility at the Boyne Centre in Drogheda.

Fitzwilliam Capital

Fitzwilliam Capital commences a number of Foreign Direct Investment initiatives to fund various enterprises in Ireland.

2019

Developments

Design and the preparation of Planning Applications are commenced for large scale mixed use Developments at Balmoral Central and Boyne Village in Navan. These will be delivered in the coming years.

2020

Merging

The three main Company divisions (Albert, Fitzwilliam Properties and Fitzwilliam Capital) are amalgamated under the rebranded Fitzwilliam Group umbrella and is primed for future growth.
